ELLIS COUNTY —One person was injured in an accident just after 9:30p.m. Wednesday in Ellis County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a Mercedes C300 driven by Thomas Flores, 47, Denver, was eastbound on Interstate 70 near Commerce Parkway. The driver lost control of the car. It traveled off the road to the left, entered the median, vaulted a crossover and struck the eastbound and then the westbound guardrails.
The westbound guardrail passed through the firewall of vehicle in front of the driver and exited through the driver’s side front window. The vehicle came to rest on the westbound inside shoulder facing southwest.
EMS transported the Flores to Hays Medical Center. He was properly restrained, according to the KHP.
