Norbert Fisher, age 76 of Ellis, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at Via Christi Village - Hays. He was born on August 11, 1949, in Hays to George and Adeline (Haas) Fisher.

Norbert graduated from Ellis High School in 1968. In January of 1970, he was inducted into the US Army serving his country in Vietnam. After his service in the Army, he returned to Ellis and married Sherry (Armbrister) in 1973 at Christ Lutheran Church in Ellis. Sherry preceded him in death on November 9, 2025.

His career was building bridges as a crane operator with King Construction of Hesston. He was also a lifelong farmer, starting with on his parents’ farm south of Ellis and continuing with Sherry’s parents’ farm north of town. Norbert was also a lifetime member of the Ellis VFW and forever a fan of the K-State Wildcats.

Survivors include his daughters; Renee Fisher of Scottsdale, Arizona and Melissa Fisher of Denver, Colorado; brothers, Marvin Fisher (Kay) of Hays and George Fisher Jr (Debbie) of North Carolina; sisters, Lillian Bongartz (George) of Ellis and Charlene Staab (Kenny) of Hays; a sister-in-law, Connie Fisher; and three grandchildren, Lainey, Oliver and Evie. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sherry; two brothers, Ronnie and Kenny Fisher as well as two sisters, LouAnn Dinkel and Joan Fisher.

Memorial  Services will be Thursday, January 29, 2026, at 10:30 AM at Keithley Funeral Homes and Crematory - Keithley Funeral Chapel 400 East 17th Street Ellis, Kansas 67637.

Inurnment with Military Honors, will follow the services in the Mt. Hope Cemetery - Ellis. Memorials are suggested to: VFW Post 9139 - Ellis, Kansas in care of the funeral chapel.
