Katlyn Marie Klima, of Oberlin, KS, passed away February 18, 2023, at the age of 26. She was born March 22, 1996, in McCook, NE to Brian and Lori (Shaffer) Klima.
Katlyn grew up in Oberlin and was a 2014 graduate of Decatur Community High School. During Katlyn's time at DCHS she was actively involved in Basketball, Volleyball, Cheerleading and was on the honor roll. After high school, Katlyn became a mother to two beautiful children, Kelsen and Heidi Kane. Katlyn had a passion for her children that was undeniable. She was always involved in the kids’ afterschool activities and attended to their every need. Katlyn was a free spirit who loved life and kept things exciting, when she wasn't listening to music she was singing (or attempting to). Katlyn was always one of those kindhearted souls to help those around her and made friends everywhere she went. Our lives will forever be changed both by her presence and now by her loss.
Katlyn is survived by her children, Kelsen Ezra Kane and Heidi Marie Kane both of Oberlin, KS; parents, Brian Klima of Oberlin, KS and Lori Shaffer of Andrews, TX; sisters: Shaylei (Josh) Johnson of Andrews, TX, Jaycee Miller of Andrews, TX, Brianna (Ryan) McEvoy of Oberlin, KS, and Keitra (Keaston Grafel) Klima of Oberlin, KS; grandmother, Karen Shaffer; nieces and nephews: Kinsley and Ella McEvoy, Carter and Sterling Grafel, Silas Klima, Alaric and Haylei Johnson, and Grayson, Michael, and Bryson Miller and many aunts, uncles, and cousins that loved her. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Melvin and Della Klima.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Oberlin Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-7:00 pm Tuesday with the family greeting friends from 5-7:00 pm at the funeral home.
