
SALINA – The Hays High girls golf team claimed their second straight 5A regional golf championship Monday in Salina. It marks the 17th year in-a-row the Indians have qualified for the state tournament.
Monday the Indians combined for a team total of 324 and tied with Bishop Carroll. Hays won the title on a tiebreaker.
Katie Dinkel led the Indians with a fourth place finish. She fired a five-over 75.
Abigail Norris finished fifth with an eight-over 78. Evyn Cox was sixth with a 12-over 82.
Jaycee Oakley tied for 14th (+19), Lilly Garrison was 16th (+20) and Clair Humphrey was 17th (+21).
The 5A state tournament is Oct. 17 and 18 at the Hesston Golf Course.
