A 46-year-old Hays man was arrested on a warrant for alleged child sex offenses.

Lt. Brandon Hauptman of the Hays Police Department said the Hays Police Department served a Kansas Bureau of Investigation warrant on Matthew Charles Reynard at 7:36 p.m. on March 6 in the 200 block of East 14th Street.

Hauptman said responding officers allegedly observed drug paraphernalia in plain sight and later obtained a search warrant, which allegedly uncovered evidence that led to additional drug-related charges.

Reynard was charged with alleged sexual exploitation of a child and internet trading in child pornography, which is a level five felony.

He was also charged with alleged distribution of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana with two prior convictions, possession of drug paraphernalia and no drug tax stamp.
