ELLIS โ€“ After scoring a total of 29 runs in the first two games of the 2-1A Ellis Regional on Tuesday the TMP-Marian softball team was held to just two runs Wednesday in the regional finals, as they see their season come to an end with a 3-2 loss to Ell-Saline.

Hannah Garcia got the Monarchs offense started in the top of the first when she doubled to lead off the game and came in to score on a Jaci VonLintel ground out, putting TMP up 1-0.

Ell-Saline answered back with run scoring ground out and a RBI single taking a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the first inning.

The Cardinals added a single run in the bottom of the third inning for a 3-1 lead.

In the top of the fourth inning TMP cut the deficit to just one, when Brooke Koenigsman scored on a passed ball making it 3-2.

The Monarchs threatened in the fifth but had a runner thrown out at home trying to tie the game. And that would be their only chance coming down the stretch as they come up short, falling 3-2.

Garcia and Koenigsman both collected a pair of hits in the game for TMP.

Madison Augustine allowed just three runs, on five hits, with five strikeouts and four walks in six innings.

Opposing pitcher Gabby Norris held TMP to just two runs on six hits with seven strikeouts in the complete game victory.

TMP finishes the season 15-8.
