The National Weather Service is predicting near-record high temperatures Saturday as a mass of unseasonably warm air pushes into western Kansas.
Hays could reach up to 90 degrees Saturday — almost a year to the day a new record high of 92 degrees was set for Oct. 10, 2020.
The temperature is expected to push into the mid-90s in the southernmost portions of western Kansas.
Skies are expected to remain calm and clear throughout the weekend, although there is a chance for rain or thunderstorms beginning Sunday night.
