Hays city commissioners will consider authorizing a $485,300 consultant agreement for design engineering services with Lochner, Lenexa, to reconstruct the 4-22 crosswind runway at the Hays Regional Airport.
The city’s share of $48,530 would come from the airport improvement fund, with the FAA paying 90 percent of the total cost.
Crosswind runway 4-22 was built of concrete in 2003 and is considerably deteriorated. Design and construction of a new runway is scheduled to take two years.
Commissioners will also consider approving Feb. 22 as the public hearing date for the proposed expansion of the Neighborhood Revitalization Plan.
Chad Ruder, director of information technology, will give a presentation on the city's 2023 aerial GIS photography.
The Feb. 8 complete agenda is available here. Thursday's meeting begins at 4 p.m. in Hays City Hall, 1507 Main.
