Wayne D. Trapp passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2020 at the Hays Medical Center at the age of 67. He was born on August 19, 1952 to Weldon and Lois (Rathbun) Trapp in Ellsworth, Kansas. He was united in marriage on December 15, 1978 to Rozella Marie Wright in Sylvan Grove and they were blessed with four children; Robert, Missy, Maggie, and Debbie
Wayne attended school in Russell where he graduated with the class of 1970. Following his graduation he went to work as a truck driver. When he wasn’t trucking he was attending his grandkid’s sporting events or enjoying local fish frys. Wayne was a member of the Lion’s club and a treasurer at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Sylvan Grove.
He is survived by his mother; Lois Pruitt of Ellsworth, KS, children; Robert (Carol) Trapp of Otis, KS, Missy(Wayne) Hughbanks of Colorado Springs, CO, Maggie Burger and significant other John Wikerson of Gothenburg, NE, and Debbie (Chris) Stegman of Hays, KS; sister, Wendy (Don) Miller of Hutchinson, KS; brother, Warren Trapp of TX; sixteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his father; Weldon Trapp; wife, Rozella Trapp; his grandparents; and an infant brother.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, August 3, 2020 at 11:30 AM at the Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery in Sylvan Grove. A visitation will be held on Sunday, August 2, 2020 from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Plumer-Overlease Funeral Home in Wilson.
