A student at Larned Middle School took first place honors in the "Happy Birthday Kansas" Student Photo Contest. Grayson Maxwell's photo entitled “Sunflower in Kansas Wheat Field” was the top entry submitted statewide by 6th graders.
The contest, now in its eighth year, invited students in first through 12th grades to shoot photographs based on the theme, "Favorite Place in Kansas in 2021." There were 506 entries.
The announcement of the winners was made to coincide with the celebration of Kansas Day last Saturday.
