Marvin Eugene Hines, 77, of Gardner, Ks, previously of Agra, Ks, passed away Oct. 10, 2020, at home.
Marvin was born Sept. 2, 1943, in Colby, Ks. to Lawrence Ray and
Grace Anna (Brown) Hines. He grew up in Hoxie, Ks.; graduating in 1961.
He then attended Fort Hays State University, graduating in 1966. Marvin
then served in the U. S. Army with 1st Calvary Division stationed in
Vietnam. Upon his return home he married Martha Rall (Marty) on July 27,
1969. They settled in Agra in 1974. Marvin was a high school math and
computer science teacher for 32 years in the Kensington school district
retiring in 2006.
Marvin was very active in the Agra community where he served as
mayor for 16 years and was a 47-year member of the American Legion Post
#357 in Agra.
Marvin enjoyed fishing and family gatherings at the lake when his health was good.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Marvin is survived by his
wife, his children; Mandra and husband Ken Bess, Gardner, Ks. and Robyn
Hines, El Paso, TX., five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A graveside service will be held on September 2, 2021, 5:00 P.M., at
the Hoxie City Cemetery, Hoxie, Kansas. All Friends and family are
invited to attend.
Memorial contributions were made to the city of Agra for a walking path at the Agra Lake.
Marvin is greatly missed by friends and family.
