Dr. David Sheppard, 68, passed away April 28, 2021, at his home in Hillsboro. He was born March 5, 1953, in Smith Center to Dr. R.G. and Eda (Lippitt) Sheppard. 

He was the Director of the Marion County Special Ed. Co-op. He married Marla Pruitt December 20, 1997, in Lawrence. Survivors include: wife, Marla Pruitt-Sheppard of Hillsboro; daughters, Rhiannon Corn of Hays, MacKensie (Danny) Cornell of Mulvane, Madison Sheppard of Hillsboro; brother, Mike (Margie) Sheppard of Olathe; sister, Debbie (Demetre) Evangelidis of Manhattan; grandchildren, Jordan and Mikaela Cornell. 

A Celebration of Life will be held June 26, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at Parkview Mennonite Brethren Church in Hillsboro. In lieu of flowers, Memorials to Project Search or Hillsboro Golf Course in care of Jost Funeral Home P.O. Box 266 Hillsboro, KS 67063. Online condolences at www.jostfuneralhome.com
