Rain falls in Hays overnight, nearing normal average moisture for the year

An overnight storm system brought 0.41 inches of rain to Hays Tuesday into early Wednesday morning, according to the K-State Agricultural Research Center south of town.

The Eagle Media Center, 2300 Hall, got 0.37 of an inch. 

So far in September, Hays has received 0.67 inches of rain. The cumulative average for the entire month is 2.24 inches.

Year-to-date, 19.70 inches of moisture has been measured in Hays. That's just shy of the average for the year of 19.84 inches by the end of September. 

The three-day weather forecast calls for a chance of rain this weekend with cooler daytime highs.
