Our beloved father Edward “Ed” Pete Peltz Jr. was a sports enthusiast, jack of all trades, and former service member. More importantly to Ed, though, he was a proud father and even prouder grandfather. On July 7th 2021, he passed away at his home in Hays, Kansas at the age of 62.
Ed was born on January 15th 1959 in Denver, Colorado to Edward Sr. and Pauline (Massey) Peltz.
During his childhood his fondest memories included helping his dad work in the mechanics shop, leftover candies from his mom’s job at the candy factory and driving equipment on his Aunt and Uncle’s farm in Brush, CO. He joined the United States Army in 1977 at the age of 18 where he served and was stationed in Germany as a heavy equipment operator and in Colorado Springs for 7 years until 1983. He played hockey while in the military where he continued after his service for many years recreationally. After his military service he married Linda White July 23rd 1983, though their relationship turned out to be less permanent than either of them expected, both went on to raise exceptional children. They lived in Denver, Colorado where he worked his way to becoming a Master Electrician and worked in the trades until his move to Kansas.
One of his favorite things to do was play hockey and after the game he would take turns spoiling each one of his kids by treating them to a burger or ice cream. Ed moved to Hoxie, Kansas in 2000 when he founded his own electrical contracting business and operated for more than a dozen years. They raised three biological daughters, three adopted daughters and one son. They went on to foster more than 12 children. In his spare time, he thoroughly enjoyed watching the Denver Broncos, Colorado Avalanche (but really any hockey game he could watch) and his children and grandchildren's events. His most enjoyed moments in life were fast cars at the track, spending time in the Rocky Mountains and spending quality time with his kids and grandkids.
He is survived by his six children: Jade Baalman, Janine Myers, Jacinda Hernandez, Jonathon Peltz, Caroline Peltz, Cascada Peltz, and Catrina Peltz; his 7 grandchildren Iden, Tehlyn, Chloe, Kierdyn, Caleb, Rylen and Camden; Sister Deborah Maestas; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

His graveside service will be held on Wednesday July 14, 2021 at 10 AM at the Kansas Veterans' Cemetery at Wakeeney located at 403 S. 13th St. in Wakeeney,KS 67672 followed by celebration of life.
