The Hays Public Library has hired Lori Allberry for the position of Early Literacy Coordinator. Allberry will be tasked with organizing and leading storytimes, working with daycares and preschools, and overseeing the early literacy area.
Born in Russell, Allberry grew up in Hays. She graduated from Fort Hays State University with a degree in Business and a major in Business Communications. She spent twenty years in California and Michigan before returning home.
Allberry has worked with children in various schools since 2013. She began working at the Hays Public Library on March 4, 2024.
“One thing I would like to focus on is preparing young children for kindergarten,” said Allberry. “I also have so many fond memories of coming to the Hays Public Library when I was young and want to help create wonderful memories at the library for the young children today.”
