Prairie View resident Jerry DeWitt passed away on February 4, 2023, in Colby, Kansas, at the age 75.
Jerry was born on February 28, 1947, in Phillipsburg to Dick and Ila (Greving) DeWitt.
Jerry was married to Gloria (Brands) DeWitt on August 13, 1971, at the Luctor Dutch Reformed Church, in Prairie View.
He was preceded in death by his parents Dick and Ila DeWitt and his brother-in-law Jerald Huiting.
Jerry was survived by his wife Gloria, sons Darrin DeWitt and wife Trudi of Syracuse, KS, and Jared DeWitt and wife Melody of Prairie View, daughter Kassandra DeWitt of Phillipsburg, brothers Roger DeWitt and wife Roxie of Prairie View, Dennis DeWitt and wife Cathy of Prairie View, and Brian DeWitt and wife Michelle of Hays, and sisters Karen Huiting of Prairie View, and Doris Van Kooten and husband Kenny of Holland, MI, as well as 10 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.
Jerry will lie in-state from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesday and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday with a visitation from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday evening at the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel in Phillipsburg.
A Funeral Service officiated by Pastor Shawn Richardson will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, February 10, at the Luctor Christion Reformed Church in Prairie View. The service will be live streamed on the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel Facebook page.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Luctor Christian Reformed Church, Sunshine City Library, and the Phillips County Fair Board.
