Eunice Noreen Richards

Eunice (Armstrong) Richards passed away Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at the Good Samaritan Society of Decatur County. She was born in Oberlin, KS on July 23, 1928 to parents, Elmer and Violet Armstrong.
She and her little sister, Donis, were raised on a farm 9 miles west of Oberlin by her grandparents, Oscar and Adina Walinder. Eunice and George Richards were married March 31, 1946 and resided on the farm 9 miles west of Oberlin. They moved to town in 1960. Eunice enjoyed hobbies such as: collecting toothpick holders, refinishing, and collecting antique furniture and iron collections. She also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping.

Eunice was preceded in death by her father, Elmer Armstrong; mother, Violet (Walinder) Hollowell; sister, Donis Armstrong; grandparents, Oscar and Adina Walinder; father-in-law, Leorin Richards; mother-in-law, Edith Richards and husband, George Richards.

She is survived by her brother, Bill Greenfield and niece, Stacey Erickson of Seattle, WA; daughter, Georgia Richards of Indio, CA; sons, Steve Richards and wife, Carolyn (DeMay) of Lee’s Summit, MO and Ken Richards and wife, Connie of Mound Ridge, KS; grandchildren: Shawn (Marti) Richards of Colorado Springs, CO, Scott (Jill) Richards of Leawood, KS, Trisha (Shawn) Maxwell of Lee’s Summit, MO, Stephanie Hartley of Indio, CA, Angela (Hartley) Shupp of Rancho Mirage, CA, Crystal (Shane) Toews of McPherson, KS, and Curtis (Heather) Richards of Norma, OK; great grandchildren: Taylor Richards, Landon Richards, Reilley Richards, Lexi Hartley, Matthew Shupp, Emily Shupp, McKinsey Barta, Steele Barta, Kylie Richards, and Reese Richards and great-great grandchild, Ember Richards.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, December 13 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Oberlin Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm before the service.
