Pauline (Walden) Heim of Hoxie, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at the Sheridan County Health Complex Long Term Care. She was born in rural Sheridan County at the family farm, March 7, 1935, to Donald and Hazel (Shafer) Walden. Pauline attended Bow Creek Elementary School and attended Sheridan County High School graduating with the class of 1952. After graduation, she went to work for Getz IGA as a checker. It was a job she loved.
Pauline met Jerome Heim, and they were married June 4, 1958, at the St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church. Pauline and Jerome lived and raised their six children in Hoxie. Pauline and Jerome celebrated their 60th Anniversary June 4, 2018. They lived in town until 1988 when they moved to a farm East of town.
Pauline was a homemaker. She was a great cook and seamstress. She also enjoyed scrap booking. Pauline loved to garden and enjoyed planting and taking care of her many flower beds. She especially liked roses and peonies. Pauline and Jerome loved to travel. They visited Spain, Mexico, Brazil, Italy, and many other countries. Pauline collected dolls from every country they visited. She was also a collector of depression glass and pie birds. Most of all Pauline loved her family. One of her very favorite things to do was hang out with her Grandkids. She was a member of the St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church and St. Frances Cabrini Sodality.
Pauline is survived by her children Sue Katt and husband Allan; Nicholas Heim and wife Beverly , Robert Heim, Steven Heim and wife Sheila, Alan Heim and wife Christy, and Douglas Heim all of Hoxie, Kansas; grandchildren, Jared Truetken (Andrea), Caitlin Katt, Connor Katt, Ryan Bellew (Kerri), Misty Stewart, Matthew Heim (Brooke), Aaron Heim, Christopher Heim (Taylor), Colin Heim (Elsie), Landon Heim, Abigail Heim, Adam Heim, and Makenna Heim ; great-grandchildren, Jenna Bondegard, Emily Truetken, Allie Truetken, Brayden Stewart, Kasyn Stewart, Gordon Heim, Savannah Heim and Hudson Heim.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jerome Heim; parents, Donald, and Hazel Walden; sister, Wilma Wharton and her husband, Jim; nephew, Joe Wharton; and nieces, Susan Dahlgren and Jill Wharton and many other relatives and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial is planned for Monday, September 12, 2022, 10:30 A.M. at the St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, Hoxie, Kansas. Visitation will be held Sunday, September 11, 2022, at Mickey-Leopold Funeral Home from 1:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. with family greeting friends from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. The Vigil and Rosary Service will be held at 7:00 P.M. following the visitation. Memorials are suggested to the St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church and the Sheridan County Health Complex LTC. Pauline loved her family and took wonderful care of each one of them. She will be missed but remain forever in the hearts and memories of her family and friends.
