Jerry Max Legere, 76, passed away on May 25, 2026, in Fort Worth. &nbsp;

He was born on July 6, 1949. &nbsp;He spent his early years living on farmsteads south of Penokee from 1949 to 1961. &nbsp;

He enjoyed being in the outdoors fishing and hunting with family and friends.Jerry graduated from Bogue High School in 1967 and later attended Fort Hays State University earning his master’s degree.

He then made his home in Fort Worth in 1987, where he remained for nearly four decades.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Major and Loretta Legere of Hill City.Jerry is survived by his wife, Elaine Soukup Legere of Fort Worth, Texas; his daughter, Leah Sanders (Thyra) of Fort Worth, Texas; and his son, Bryan Legere of Eugene, Oregon. 

He also leaves behind three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
