Kendall Greene joins Sunflower Electric Power Corp.

Great Bend, Kan.—April 15, 2022—Sunflower Electric Power Corp. (Sunflower) has hired Kendall Greene, P.E., as manager of substation systems.

Greene was formerly a senior utility substation engineer with more than 10 years of experience in substation design, project management, construction, operations, and leadership. After earning a bachelor’s degree from the Colorado School of Mines in general engineering, with an emphasis in electrical and a minor in business and economics, Greene went Black & Veatch where she worked in substation design. She then accepted a position at Platte River Power Authority where she worked as a system electrical engineer and as field and operations support and then to Evergy, assuming the role of senior engineer in substation design.

At Sunflower, Greene will manage construction, maintenance, and repair of Sunflower’s substation, protection, and metering systems, involving scheduling, coordinating, and planning work while maintaining system reliability and protection. She will also work to ensure North American Electric Reliability Company (NERC), Southwest Power Pool (SPP), and Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) compliance by collaborating with internal departments and external entities.
