Cooler temperatures will stick around into the weekend, the National Weather Service in Dodge City predicts.

After a high of 106 degrees Monday afternoon, a cold front swept into the area, bringing with it 0.34 inches of rain. There is a chance of additional precipitation before 3 p.m. Tuesday and again between 3 and 4 p.m. Tuesday, the NWS said.

Highs will be below 90 degrees through the remainder of the week, with overnight lows dropping to the mid-50s.

A chance of rain returns this weekend, with a 20 percent to 30 percent chance of showers or thunderstorms early Saturday morning through Monday.
