3 Ellis county adults, 10-year-old injured in pickup, SUV crash

TREGO COUNTY —Three adults and a child were injured in an accident just after 5:30p.m. Friday in Trego County. 

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 1993 Ford Ranger driven by Gregory J. Kroeger, 69, Ellis, was northbound on 400 Avenue two miles west of Ellis. The driver failed to yield at Old Highway 40. The pickup struck a westbound 2001 Subaru Forrester driven by Crystal Y. Hoffert, 32, Ellis, in between the drivers and rear doors.  After impact the Subaru spun around and rolled into the north ditch.  

EMS transported Hoffert and passengers James D. Hoffert, 40, Hays, and a 10-year-old girl to Trego County Lemke Memorial Hospital.  Kroeger had a minor injury and was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.
