
Simon Cousins, 74, of Oakley, died Monday, Dec. 20, 2021, at the Logan County Hospital. He was born on Nov. 29, 1947, in Colby, to Harold and Velma (Dawson) Cousins, of Oakley.
He graduated from
Oakley High School in 1965. He married Ginger (Kinne) Cousins on March
5, 1970. Simon served in the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1969 and the U.S.
Army Reserves from 1969 to 1973. He was a member of the Kansas Army
National Guards from 1973 to 1997. He was a Veteran of the Vietnam War.
He was preceded in death by his father Harold Cousins, of Oakley;
brother Randy Cousins, of Branson, Mo., and niece Michelle Lynn Cole, of
Broken Arrow, Okla.
He is survived by his wife Ginger Cousins, of Oakley; children,
Marvin Cousins, of Oakley, Wesley “Wes” Cousins, of Wichita, and
William “Bill” and Wendy Cousins, of Hoxie; mother Velma “Mae”
Cousins, of Oakley; brother Richard Cousins, of Oakley; sisters
Sheryl Cousins, of Snellville, Ga., and Sandy and Gary Cole of Broken
Arrow, Okla.; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; and many
nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. with the funeral service at 2
p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 23, 2021, at Baalmann Mortuary, in Oakley. Interment will follow at the Oakley City Cemetery.
