Gerald D. Nuss, 86, WaKeeney, died Friday, June 5, 2026 at
Trego County Lemke Memorial Hospital Long Term Care.

He was born June 17, 1939 in Russell, the son of Elizabeth
Nuss.&nbsp; Gerald served in the U.S. Army,
and he was an oilfield roughneck, working many years for Randy’s Well
Service.&nbsp; He married Judi Benedick, and
they celebrated over 50 years of marriage before she preceded him in death on
May 13, 2020.&nbsp; He loved watching sports, eating
bierocks, attending his children’s ball games, and he enjoyed playing cards.

Survivors include his sons Jerry Nuss and wife Kelly of
Natoma, Chad Nuss and wife Stephanie of Plainville, and Dallas Nuss of
Huntington, West Virginia, his daughter Eva Malin and husband Tim of
Plainville, his sister Rosemary “Rosie” Huie and husband Bruce of Geneva, New
York, 16 grandchildren Kendall, Randi, Logan, Brooke, Colby, Brandon, Morgan,
Taylor, Tanner, Treagen, Sierra, Sage, Mercedes, Ashton, Natalie, and Deja, and
ten great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother and his daughter
Shelly Hirsch.

No services are scheduled.&nbsp;
Cremation is in the care of Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, and
