Ed Conine, 75, died on Monday, May 3, 2021, at Hays Medical Center in Hays. He was born on June 19, 1945, at Garden City the son of Jack C. & Elsie M. (Young) Conine. He married Janis Sculley on August 6, 1963, at Beeler.

Ed served in the United States army for 3 years as a mechanic and after his discharge he moved to Dighton to work as a mechanic for Lane County Implement. He then worked as a Lineman for Lane Scott Electric for 20 years. After retiring from Lane-Scott, he was a truck driver for several people in the area. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed camping, hunting, woodworking and riding his Harley. He was a member of American Legion Post # 190 of Dighton and served many years on the Honor Guard.

He is survived by his Wife- Janis Conine, 2 Daughters- Sheila & Roger Scheib of Liberal and Shari & Mike Lake of Salina, Son- Aaron & Lisa Conine of Dighton, 2 Brothers- Jackie Conine of Belton, Missouri and Ronnie Conine of Cimarron, Sister- Barbara Slagle of Ness City, 10 Grandchildren and 15 Great-Grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be at 10:30 AM Friday at the United Methodist Church with Rev Berniece Ludlum officiating. The service will be on Facebook Live on the Garnand Funeral Home facebook page. Burial will be in Dighton Memorial Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post # 190 Honor Guard and Kansas Army National Guard Honor Guard. Friends may call from Noon to 8:00 PM Thursday at Boomhower Funeral Home in Dighton.
