Garden City- Dolline “Dolly” Skilling, 82, died on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at her home in Wichita. She was born on June 23, 1941 at Garden City the daughter of Leroy George & Mabel Dolline (Taylor) Myers. She married John Orville Shriver in Lamar, Colorado. She later married Charles Clark Skilling on October 10, 1987 at Garden City. He died on January 6, 2021.
Dolly attended school in Brandon, Oregon and worked in a nursing home kitchen in Brandon. She later moved to Las Animas, Colorado. She moved back to Garden City and had worked at Wendy’s and Alco. She enjoyed collecting angels and chickens and working puzzles.
She is survived by her 4 children- Alvira Loya of San Bernadino, California, Leora & Lee Havens of Penrose, Colorado, Orville & Mary Shriver of Wichita and Alida Potter of Nebraska along with Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, 1 Son- Eddie Shriver, 2 Grandchildren and 1 Great-Granddaughter.
Funeral Service will be at 10:30 AM Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City with Rev Nathan Haeck officiating. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery in Garden City. Friends may call from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday at Garnand Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to Dollie Skilling Memorial Fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home.
