A Hays man was arrested after allegedly threatening coworkers with a knife at Burger King.
Hays Police Chief Don Scheibler said officers responded to a verbal disturbance on April 14 in the 2700 block of Epworth Village. During the investigation, officers learned of an alleged previous incident on April 9 involving 20-year-old Dustin Hunter Darby.
On that day at Burger King, Scheibler said Darby allegedly argued with a coworker near closing time and threatened the coworker with a pocket knife.
Officers later located and arrested Darby on April 22 after an investigation. Scheibler said Darby was allegedly found in possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and a nicotine product at the time of his arrest. He was charged with alleged aggravated assault.
The day after the arrest, a second victim reported a separate alleged incident involving Darby. Scheibler said Darby allegedly pulled a knife on another coworker at Burger King on April 18 during work hours.
That investigation resulted in a second requested aggravated assault charge. Scheibler said no injuries were reported in either incident.
