The 2020 Drive-thru seasonal flu vaccination event was held on Sunday, Sept. 27. Once again, it was a huge success. In its 21st year, the event resulted in 3,646 people receiving the seasonal flu vaccine over a five hour period. That’s an average of one vaccine every 4.9 seconds!

The event is organized by a committee led by HaysMed Director of Infection Prevention Kevin Myers and staffed by dozens of volunteers from HaysMed as well as the nursing departments of both Fort Hays State University and North Central Kansas Technical College. Thank you to all who volunteered!

The event is sponsored by the HaysMed Foundation at a cost of nearly $70,000 annually. Attendees also dropped off cash donations and 1,800 pounds of non-perishable food items which were delivered to the Community Assistance Center.
