Update: City of Hays continues to respond to water issue

The City of Hays continues its response to the Kansas Department of Health and Environment Boil Water Advisory issued earlier today.

City staff has been working closely with KDHE staff in following requirements of the advisory.

The City of Hays continues its response to the (KDHE) Boil Water Advisory issued earlier today that was a result of a loss of system pressure due to a water main break.

City staff has been working closely with KDHE staff in following requirements of the advisory.

Today, teams collected water samples in 20 zones throughout the City of Hays.  Samples were delivered to the State lab in Topeka by 5 p.m.

The city expects the results from those tests to be returned mid-day Wednesday.

The city staff appreciates everyone’s patience with this Boil Water Advisory.

Boil Water Advisories are issued out of an abundance of caution to ensure the safety of those who use and consume our most precious resource.

𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐒𝐧𝐠 πŠπƒπ‡π„ 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩π₯𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬 is extremely important and can take 2-3 days in some instances. 

The city will continue to communicate its progress.
