Hays receives more snow overnight; dangerous wind chills forecast through Tuesday

The K-State Ag Research Center in Hays reported 1.5 inches of snow overnight in Hays.

This is on top of the estimated eight inches of snow the city received Monday and Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.

Hays and most of Kansas are in a wind chill warning from today through noon on Tuesday.

Wind chills could drop as low as -29 degrees as of Sunday night in Hays.

Snow will be possible across southcentral and portions of southwest Kansas on Sunday. Hays has a 30 percent chance of snow after noon on Sunday. Accumulation is estimated to be less than an inch.

All of Ellis County was reported to be out of extreme drought for the first time in months as of the drought report Thursday. However, most of the county still remains in severe drought as of the report.
