NEWTON – Hays High senior Jason Krannawitter and sophomore Braden Hoskins have advanced to Tuesday’s second round of the 5A State Golf Tournament at the Sand Creek Station Golf Course in Netwon. Krannawitter shot an 8-over-par 80 and is tied for 23rd. Hoskins is tie for 47th after firing an opening round 86.

Nicklaus Mason of Mill Valley and Michael Winslow of St. Thomas Aquinas are
tied for the lead at 1-under, 71.
St. Thomas Aquinas has the team lead after Monday’s first round with a 309,
four shots ahead of Maize South and Kapaun Mt. Carmel. Overland Park-Blue
Valley Southwest, Bishop Carroll and Great Bend are the six teams that advance
to Tuesday’s second round.
The top six teams from day one along with the top 18 individuals not on one of
those teams advance to the second round.
