Ila Mae Edwards, 89, longtime Bison, Kansas, resident passed away Monday, May 24, 2021, at Locust Grove Village, La Crosse, Kansas.
Ila Mae was born December 11, 1931, in Bison, Kansas, the daughter of Morton and Ella (Gisick) Lewis. She attended all 12 years of school in Bison, Kansas, and graduated from Bison High School, Bison, Kansas, in 1949.
She was united in marriage to Zane K. Edwards December 9, 1951, at the United Methodist Church, Bison, Kansas. He preceded her in death April 8, 2018.
The couple made their home on a farm north of Bison, Kansas, where Ila Mae was a homemaker and farm wife.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Bison, Kansas.
Ila Mae enjoyed hand quilting quilts, reading, and cooking for her family.
Survivors include: two sons, David Edwards (Nancy), Norman, Oklahoma, and Brian Edwards (Karen), Bison, Kansas; one daughter, Gay Graham (Ron), Colorado Springs, Colorado; 11 grandchildren; and 26 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother, Roy Lewis; and one sister, Betty Schleuning.
Funeral service will be Saturday, May 29, 2021, at 10:00 A.M. at the Janousek Funeral Home, La Crosse, Kansas, with Pastor Ron Graham officiating. Private family Interment will be in La Crosse City Cemetery, La Crosse, Kansas, with Pastor David Edwards officiating.
In lieu of flowers or plants, the family requests memorials to the United Methodist Church, Bison, Kansas, or Locust Grove Village, La Crosse, Kansas.
