VALLEY CENTER – The Hays High girls’ wrestling team opened their season with a second-place finish at the Valley Center Girls Invitational Saturday. The Indians scored 162 points, 41 1/2 behind first place Garden City.

The Indians had three wrestlers win championships and three finish in second place. Timber Lovewell (145), Lexi Barnett (155) and Eleanor Stoffel (190) all went undefeated and finished first. Emersyn Cooper (100), Kenlee Vehige (120) and Addison Neuberger (135) all finished second.
