
The National Weather Service in Dodge City has issued a winter weather advisory for much of western Kansas, including Ellis County.
The advisory is in effect 3 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday.
The chance of snow overnight Tuesday is 70 percent, with an inch of snow possible in Hays and Ellis County. Up to 3 inches of snow could be possible in southwestern Kansas.
The potential snow is expected to wane by 7 p.m. Tuesday, and skies are expected to clear Wednesday.
The temperature is forecast to rise somewhat beginning Wednesday, with highs in the upper-40s expected.
Weekend highs could be in the mid-50s, the NWS said.
