Developmental Services of Northwest Kansas
Developmental Services of Northwest Kansas is proud to announce a grant award from the Heartland Community Foundation in the amount of $2,430.97. The grant will go toward the purchase of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and an alarmed wall-mounted cabinet for the Reed Developmental Center cafeteria in Hays.
The AED is capable of analyzing heart rhythms and delivering a life-saving treatment. This device will be placed in a high-visibility area where it will remain in a state of constant readiness.
"By placing an AED directly within our Reed Center cafeteria, essential time is saved and having this device will empower our team to act decisively during a crisis," states Jerry Michaud, DSNWK President.
"It will allow our staff to remain in the immediate vicinity without needing to venture to another part of the building, maintaining essential supervision and support for the rest of the individuals we support."
DSNWK would like to thank the Heartland Community Foundation for their continued support of our work, helping people with developmental disabilities.
DSNWK is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving 18 counties in northwest Kansas with a mission to advocate for persons with disabilities and those who care about them by planning and supporting a life of dignity, interdependence, and personal satisfaction in the community.
