🏈 Tigers receiving more votes in AFCA Poll, face No. 7 Gorillas this week

WACO, Texas – Fort Hays State Football received five more votes in the AFCA Top 25 Poll this week than it did in the week prior. The latest poll was released on Monday. The Tigers are coming off a 38-7 win over Washburn at home this past week.

Fort Hays State goes on the road this week to face the highest ranked team in the MIAA, No. 7 Pittsburg State. The Gorillas hold a 4-1 record on the season with their only loss to Emporia State, which currently holds the No. 16 ranking. Remaining undefeated is Central Oklahoma, moving up to No. 11 this week, which gives the MIAA three teams in the Top 25 once again. Fort Hays State is the only MIAA team in the receiving votes section this week.

Saturday will mark Fort Hays State's fourth game this season against an AFCA Top 25 ranked team. The Tigers have a 2-1 record against AFCA Top 25 ranked teams so far this season. The Tigers won home contests over No. 24 Angelo State and No. 12 Central Missouri, but lost on the road at No. 23 Central Oklahoma.

In the latest D2Football.com Top 25 Poll, Pittsburg State is ranked No. 4, Central Oklahoma is No. 8, and Emporia State is No. 17.
