Kathleen Marie (Lantz) Zelenka, of Wilson, Kansas, passed away on October 7, 2022, at the Topeka Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Topeka, Kansas. She was born on December 31, 1963, to Frank and Gwen (Hurst) Lantz in Price Carbon, Utah. She was married to Timothy L. Zelenka on October 25, 1986, in Bunker Hill, Kansas. They were blessed with one son, James.
Kathleen graduated from Dorrance High School in 1982 and joined the Army National Guard in 1985; she went into active duty from November 1990 to July 1991 and was honorably discharged in 2013. She worked as the manager for the service oil station north of Wilson for 30 years. She was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 262, Wilson.
Kathleen enjoyed fishing, camping, lake-time, jet-skiing, and gambling. She was very outgoing, loved people, and loved to dance – which she and Tim did a lot. Kathleen loved to shop, especially for others, and loved her family; her grandbabies were her life.
Kathleen was a woman of great character, strong values, and deep love for family and friends. Although she will be greatly missed, her love and influence will remain in the hearts and lives of us all. May her legacy inspire each of us to encourage one another, cherish the ties that bind, and live to serve God, Home, and Country everyday of our lives.
Kathleen is survived by her husband, Tim Zelenka of the home in Wilson; son, James (Dreamer) Zelenka of Wilson; brother, Edward Lantz of Wilson; sister, Jeanne Dannebohm of Delphos; and 2 grandchildren, Ellyott and Eastyn Zelenka.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Gwen Lantz.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 14, 2022, at 10:30 AM at the First Baptist Church in Wilson. Visitation will be Thursday, 2PM to 8PM at the funeral home in Wilson.
