STOCKTON โ The TMP-Marian Monarchs girls outscored Hill City 22-0 to open the game and never trailed on their way to a 49-15 win over the Ringnecks Saturday in the first MCL tournament feather-bracket game of the day at Stockton Grade School.
Julianna Baalman hit her first three-pointer of the season off the opening tip putting TMP up 3-0.
After a Jaci VonLintel field goal Hannah Garcia added a three-pointer of her own for an 8-0 TMP lead.
The Monarchs run continued as they led 18-0 at the end of the first quarter and 22-0 before Hill City got on the scoreboard with 5:25 to play in the first half.
TMP led 33-6 at the end of the first half.
Hill City cut the TMP lead to 35-10 to start the third quarter but TMP answered with an 11-2 run to end the third quarter and led 46-12.
TMP, with a running clock to end the game picked up the 49-15 victory.
Jaci VonLintel led all scorers with 13 points and 10 of the 11 Monarchs who played in the game scored.
TMP will play the No. 2 seed Smith Center in the first round of the MCL tournament on Tuesday.
