Good Samaritan Society-Hays on Monday announced the results of a mass coronavirus testing conducted July 7 at its facility at 2700 Canal.
In a news release, Administrator Noe Gillespie announced that all 61 residents test were negative for COVID-19. Of the 64 staff members test, two were found to be positive.
"Both staff members remain out on leave and will return to work once cleared to do so," Gillespie said.
A second round of testing is underway Monday.
"While we continue to pray for our staff members we are happy to share that all staff and families are doing well at this time and we praise God for the negative results for all residents," Gillespie said. "We continue to work side by side with our local and state health departments as we work through these challenging times. As always, the health, safety and well-being of our residents, staff and the community we serve is our top priority.”
In early June, a resident tested positive for COVID-19. A mass testing conducted shortly after showed no other residents or staff members were infected at the time.
