Update 2:50 p.m.:&nbsp;<a href="https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1A2zCsWV5R/">City of Hays firefighters are assisting at the scene of a large grass fire in Russell County as crews work to gain control.</a> High winds are expected to persist through the afternoon and into the late evening.

Update at 2:10 p.m.: A fire was reported south of Bunker Hill near Interstate 70.

Kansas Highway Patrol Trooper Tod Hileman shared video of the wildfire burning in southeast Russell County on Facebook and urged the public to avoid the area as firefighters work to contain it.
