JoLinn Marie (Railsback) Kaus

JoLinn was born July 5, 1968 to Frank and Nadine Railsback in the Smith Center Hospital. She passed away November 7, at the Sheridan County Long Term Care Unit in Hoxie, Kansas. Jo attended school in Jewell/Randall through her junior year. The family moved to Mankato and she graduated in 1986 from Mankato High School. She then graduated from beauty school in Salina a year later. 

When she was working in Beloit, she met her husband, Marvin Kaus. They got married April 20, 1991 in Mankato. Shortly thereafter, they moved to the Hoxie area to make their home. To this union, two children were born; ShayLinn Marie and Tyler James.

From a young age, she was an outdoors person who enjoyed hunting and fishing with her Dad. She showed animals in 4-H for many years, sheep and horses were her favorite. She also loved playing basketball, volleyball and softball. Later in life, she loved nothing more than watching her kids grow up, supporting them in sports and other activities. She also enjoyed helping Marvin on the farm with the sheep. She would keep a log of every baby, their gender and which ewe they belonged to. She also loved visiting with people at her salon, Shear Cuts and at the long term care where she did hair for the residents.

Preceding her in death are her Grandparents, and her brother, Wesley Leon.

JoLinn is survived by her husband, Marvin Kaus of Hoxie, KS; children: ShayLinn (Drew) Zweygardt of Saint Francis, KS and Tyler (Kiersten Burger) of Hoxie, KS; grandchild: Zander Zweygardt; parents: Frank and Nadine Railsback, Mankato, KS; siblings: Janelle (Steve) Spiegel of Formosa, KS, Jeff (Suanne) Railsback of Louisburg, KS and Julie Railsback of Lenexa, KS and 8 nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial is planned for Wednesday, November 11, 2020, 10:30 A.M., at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Seguin, Kansas. Interment will immediately follow the service in the St. Martin of Tours Catholic Cemetery, Seguin. Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 10, 2020, 1:30 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., family greeting friends from 5:30 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. and a Vigil and Rosary Service at 7:00 P.M. all at the Mickey-Leopold Funeral Home, Hoxie, Kansas. Memorials are suggested to the Sheridan County Health Complex Long Term Care or the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.
