Robyn Renee Appel, 57, passed away November 2, 2021 at Hays Medical Center, Hays, KS.
She was born July 6, 1964 in Dodge City, KS, the daughter of Johnnie D. and Kathleen “Kathy” A. Grumbein Appel. Robyn was friendly and full of energy. She would greet you with a hug, kiss, and pat! She loved babies, animals, (although all animals were “cats”) her stuffed animals, helping in the kitchen and going for car rides. She liked to laugh, be the center of attention and would get very excited about special occasions, especially if it was centered around her.
Robyn was mostly non-verbal and used sign language often to communicate. She struggled and often was frustrated trying to express her feelings.
Survivors include: two brothers, Mike (Phyllis) Appel, Dodge city and John Pat Appel, Topeka; three nephews, Jeremy (Ashley) Appel, Jetmore, Josh Appel, Mason City, IA, Caleb Appel, Topeka; niece, Amy (Jon) Eilert, Beloit and six great nieces and nephews, Korbin, Colt, Quinn, Callie, Kassidy, Cambryn and lots of friends. She will be greatly missed by all her caregivers and roommates who always looked out for her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnnie and Kathy Appel
Graveside service will be 2:30 p.m. Monday, November 8, 2021 at Fairmount Cemetery, Jetmore.
