HAYS - The Hays High girls’ soccer team won their second straight game on the newly turfed field at Hays High school Monday. The Indians blanked Junction City 6-0 to move to 6-2 on the season.
Kinslee Newell and Dani Willeford both scored two goals helping the Indians to their third win in the their last four matches.
Newell scored HHS' first goal in the 11th minute on an assist from Willeford. Willeford then added goals in the 24th and 36th minute with Newell finding the back of the net one minute later for a 4-0 halftime lead.
Newell assisted on a second half goal from Katie Dinkel in the 51st minute. Ava Biggs rounded out the scoring with a goal in the 78th minute.
Katie Gutierrez had one save on the Bluejays only shot on goal.
Hays High travels to Wichita Thursday to play Wichita Trinity.
