Hays High DECA is proud to announce its clothing drive aimed at supporting USD 489 schools by providing warmth and comfort to students in need during the upcoming winter season.

The clothing drive will run from 7:30 a.m. to noon on Friday, Jan. 5, gathering gently-used clothing items to distribute among the USD 489 schools.

With the onset of colder weather, Hays High DECA recognizes the critical importance of ensuring everyone has access to warm clothing. The clothing drive seeks donations of clean, gently-used or new clothing items, including jeans, shirts, sweaters, etc.

“Our mission is to be able to provide clothes for less fortunate kids in need, within our district," said Trennedy Woolsey, Clothes for a Cause co-chair.

The clothing drive encourages the participation of individuals, local businesses, schools and community organizations to contribute to this initiative. The donation drop-off point will be at Hays High School, 2300 E. 13th between the hours of 7:30 a.m. to noon. Donors will want to enter the teacher’s parking lot off 13th Street. Additionally, Hays High DECA will host a student Pride Time competition at Hays High School from Jan. 8 to 12.

To learn more about how to get involved or donate to the clothing drive, contact Brenlynn Albers ([email protected]), Trennedy Woolsey ([email protected]), Abygail Banks ([email protected]) or 785-623-2600.

Hays High DECA is grateful for the community's support and generosity in making this clothing drive a success. Together, let's keep our community warm and full of hope this winter season.
