ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – Fort Hays State Women's Golf finished 19th at the MWSU Holiday Inn Invitational at the St. Joseph Country Club. Jaycee Oakley and Hayden York both led the way for the Tigers individually with two-round totals of 176. As a team, the Tigers had a score of 712 over two rounds.
The Tigers all had similar opening rounds. Their top finishers, Jaycee Oakley and Kiley Maier, shot 89. Hayden York was one back with a 90 and Abbie Norris shot 91. Maier did not compete on day two. York had the best round of any Tiger in the second round with an 86. Oakley was right behind with an 87 to tie York overall in 90th place. Norris shot 91 for the second-straight day and Alexis Elliott backed up a first-round 93 with an 89.
Southwestern Oklahoma State won the event as a team, shooting a two-round total of 616 . Maria Velilla of Southwestern Oklahoma was the individual champion, who shot 4-over par overall with a two-round total of 148.
Fort Hays State will wrap up its fall schedule at the Tulsa Cup next week in Broken Arrow, Okla., Oct. 27-28.
