
Scotty Paul Williams died on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at the Advena Living on Woodlawn nursing facility in Wichita, Kansas.
Scotty was born on January 16, 1966, in Russell, Kansas, the son of Paul and Ruby (Schoen) Williams. He grew up in Russell and graduated from Russell High School in the class of 1984.
He worked as a salesperson at Stoppel Supply Store in Russell for several years and also worked as a plumber. Later he moved to different locations in western Kansas and the Salina area. He was a former member of the First Baptist Church in Russell. He enjoyed visiting with friends he met through Alcoholics Anonymous and was also a friend to animals and young children. Scott had a deep appreciation and respect for artisans and the creative process. Art was his favorite subject in school.
Surviving family includes his mother Ruby Williams of Russell, Kansas; son Nicolas Williams (Taylor) of Russell; sister Debra Williams of Costa Mesa, California; and granddaughter Emersyn Williams of Russell, Kansas.
He was preceded in death by his father (2004), brothers Laurel (2016) and Thomas Williams (2004) and sister Denise Williams (2014).
Scotty will be laid to rest at the Langley cemetery at a later date during a private ceremony.
A cremation service was selected by the family. The family will have a private burial of the cremains at a later date. Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell, Kansas, is in charge of the arrangements.
