The Kansas Department of Health and Environment on Wednesday reported 16 new COVID-19 cases had been identified in Ellis County from Feb. 18 to 24.
KDHE reports updated case numbers weekly on Wednesdays.
Ellis County was returned to the substantial-incidence category, and Cheyenne, Rawlins, Gove and Ness counties were included in the high-incidence category.

Since reporting began, there have been 8,432 cases of COVID-19 identified in Ellis County.
