
Diana M. Dinkel, 70, Victoria, died Thursday, June 26, 2025 at HaysMed.
She was born October 1, 1954 in Hays, the daughter of Leon A. and Lillian (Dreiling) Dinkel. She was a graduate of Victoria High School with the class of 1972, earned a Bachelor’s Degree in business administration from Fort Hays State University, and then she worked for Sears doing merchandise ordering. Diana was a talented musician who played the saxophone, accordion, piano, and played guitar at the Comeau Catholic Campus Center. Diana was a devout Catholic and a member of the Basilica of St. Fidelis. She enjoyed family gatherings, graciously put the needs of others before her own, and lovingly cared for her nieces, nephews, and parents.
Survivors include her mother Lillian of Victoria, two brothers, George Dinkel and wife Linda of Wichita and Joseph Dinkel of Victoria, three sisters, Mary Stecklein and husband Duane of Munjor, Annette Wiesner and husband Raymond of Hays, and Therese Augustine and husband Vern of Overland Park, and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father Leon.
Mass of Christian burial was Saturday, June 28, 2025 at the Basilica of St. Fidelis with Fr. Curtis Carlson, OFM Cap. officiating. Burial followed in St. Fidelis Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Basilica of St. Fidelis or for masses.
