UPDATE: Just one new case of COVID-19 identified in Ellis Co.

In its last regular local update of the COVID-19 dashboard, the Ellis County Health Department on Wednesday reported the average number of new coronavirus cases per day in the last seven days remained at zero.

There are currently eight active cases, including one active hospitalization of an Ellis County resident, and 3,713 recovered cases.

As of Wednesday, the University of Kansas Health System also reported just two COVID-19 inpatients at HaysMed, with both in the recovery phase.

The seven-day average of percent of positive tests fell slightly to 1.1 percent.

Since reporting began, there have been 3,721 cases of COVID-19 identified in Ellis County, including 73 coronavirus-related deaths.

Of the total 26,647 tests administered, 12.9 percent have returned positive for COVID-19.
