
Ann Marie (Boomer) Minson, 54, of WaKeeney, Kansas, passed away on March 24, 2025, at the Trego County Lemke Memorial Hospital in WaKeeney. She was born on August 24, 1970, to Gerald and Elma Marie (Hoyt) Means in Belleville, Kansas. She married Scott Boomer on May 6, 1995, in Jewell, Kansas, and he passed away in 2020. On January 11, 2022, she married Doug Minson in Cabo. Ann was blessed with two sons, Tyler and Kaden, and two step-sons, Carter and Cooper.
Ann grew up in Jewell and graduated from Jewell High School in 1989. She went on to spend 20 years in the cosmetology field before following her passion for helping others by pursuing a career in nursing. Ann graduated from Tabor College in 2019 and began her nursing career, working at HaysMed and later at Trego County Lemke Memorial Hospital in WaKeeney, where she made a significant impact on those she cared for. She was also a member of PEO - Chapter CT.
Ann had a zest for life and cherished time spent with family and friends. She loved shopping trips with her sisters, holiday gatherings, and in recent years, enjoyed playing golf. Her vibrant spirit and kindness left an impression on all who knew her.
Ann is survived by her husband, Doug Minson of WaKeeney; sons, Tyler Boomer of Hays, KS and Kaden Boomer of WaKeeney, KS; step-sons, Carter (Bailey) Minson of Manhattan, KS and Cooper Minson of WaKeeney, KS; sisters, Cindy (Bruce) Barrett of Jewell and Barbara (Kenneth) Tatro of Beloit, KS; step-mother-in-law, Marsha Boomer of Heath, TX; mother-in-law, Marilyn Minson of Larned, KS; sister-in-law, Jodi (Josh) Foerschler of Overland Park, KS and her children, Ryan, Olivia and Mia; brothers-in-law, Troy (Amy) Welsch of Larned, KS, Mark Welsch of Trousdale, and Terry (Tracy) Minson II of Galva, KS; aunts, Sharon Tullar and Twila Means of Jewell, KS; nephews, Jerod (Samantha) McMillan of Jewell, Lee (Ingrid) McMillan of Beloit, Robert Barrett of San Diego, CA, and Devin and Damon Tatro of Beloit; and special friends, Dennis and Suzie Foerschler.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Alma Means, and her husband, Scott Boomer.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at 10:30AM, at Celebration Church in Hays, KS. Burial will follow at 2PM at the Osborne City Cemetery in Osborne, KS. Visitation will be held on Friday 5:30-7:30pm at the WaKeeney Church of God in WaKeeney, KS.
